Event date: 28 October 2017
Ever harboured a longing to set sail around the world? It seems many of our Cape Town Chamber members have that itch. There were no shortage of takers when the Chamber offered members the opportunity to join the skipper and crew of the UK government’s yacht Great Britain for a couple of hours’ sailing in Table Bay.
The yacht had arrived in Cape Town the previous week after 14 days spent battling the South Atlantic from Punta Del Este, Uruguay, as part of the world’s toughest and longest endurance race – the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
We warned members that this was an adventure not for the faint hearted – a hands-on experience of a stripped out ocean racing yacht. And what a once in a life time experience it was – as the pictures below show…
What a great trip, thank you. Max and I really loved it!
